Discover the wealth of background experience that helps Gemma succeed
I have been involved in athletics since childhood and began cross country running whilst at school. I proved to be good at it and so, as soon as I was old enough, I joined the Oswestry Olympians in Shropshire where I was introduced to various track and field disciplines.
As I matured and progressed I went on to compete for the Shropshire County Track and Field team before, in 2005, I received recognition when I was given my first National representative vest for England at the long jump and then the pentathlon later that same year. I love all track and field sports but also trained in figure skating, ballet, swimming as well as other sporting activities. I also played for my Shropshire County netball team and after qualifying as a swimming teacher and lifeguard, I worked at the local pool for a number of years.
Having achieved a First Class Hons Degree in Sport Science at Brunel University I became a Sport Lecturer for BTEC and Foundation Degree students in North London.
I then moved full time into the world of sport, health and fitness. I now LOVE what I do. I get to teach clients about their bodies and how best to manage them as well as sport and techniques. I get to help people achieve their goals and dreams and know that I have had a positive role to play in their success.

Qualified trainers
Through my years within sport I have been fortunate enough to represent Great Britain numerous times at both Junior and Senior Level in the Pentathlon and Heptathlon. Athletics has taken me around the world to places such as California, South Africa, Holland, Switzerland, Czech Republic and many more.
I have worked with professionals including massage and physiotherapists, nutritionists, psychologists, strength and conditioning specialists as well as technical event coaches from around the world. I have also been fortunate enough to meet athletes such as Usain Bolt, Floyd Mayweather and Jessica Ennis.
As a result of personal injury I do not currently compete although I still love to lead by example. I enjoy my own strength and fitness training as well as alternate activities such as yoga.
Now that I have changed my focus to being the therapist and coach myself I really enjoy watching my clients succeed. Whether it is in sport or to achieve their aims of weight loss or confidence building. I am so grateful for my experiences not only for what I personally gained through my sport but the knowledge and understanding that I now have and can apply to excel with my clients.
